This is the first main “Devlog” post! Going forward I’d like to follow a similar structure! Especially since these posts are very spaced apart! Bellow are key points of discussion relevant to the games development process since the last post!
GAMEPLAY CLIP!!!
Firstly! Yes Gameplay!! I have decided to include a short video showing off some early footage! To better understand why I’m showing this gameplay specifically, let me tell you about the past year of development!
WHAT HAS BEEN DONE?
To be honest, not a lot of progress was made when considering the full scope of the project. But that’s not to say what I accomplished wasn’t huge, because it was! Let me explain, two major setbacks happened last year.
I hit a roadblock when developing Redwood’s AI, you see, he is programmed to enter your office after a set amount of moves, however upon entering the main hall, the player is equipped with a flashlight and should have been able to prevent redwood from advancing, sending him back to the main stage as seen in the video… however, at the time, no matter what I tried, Redwood always would end up causing a game over… Luckily then came the “huge” accomplishment, I solved the issue! After months of taking a break, I decided to hop back on and give it another go! By trial and error, I managed to give the flashlight a command linked to Redwood when standing in that position, allowing the player to reset him back to the stage!
It still needs some polishing and better animation, but for now, I’m just happy to have gotten past that struggle!

A NEW CHARACTER?
Yes the third character is coming!.. eventually…
Around December of last year (2024) I began working on the third character that’ll be featured in the game. I won’t reveal too much of who or what they are. But unfortunately during modeling, I somehow managed to delete the whole character model by not saving before exiting. So I ended up taking an another long break from development to give me time for the frustration to drain. I might give the model another chance soon!
LEVEL PROGRAMMING
I wanted to briefly touch on the overall programming of the game. Bellow is an image of the in game programming/ engine that makes the game function. It is a lot. I physically have to move and wire all of the gadgets, tools, and equipment together around the entire map. For those who haven’t been following my game, I am developing this game in a software featured on PlayStation called “Dreams.” Where it then will be published and playable via the Dreamiverse!

SOUND DESIGN
A little segment on sound design! I’ve been playing around with ambiences and environmental sounds to enhance the realism! Sounds like crickets chirping outside, or the hum of an air conditioner to name a few! Cameras also have live audio feeds, so you can hear the rooms you are viewing!
LIGHTING
lighting is something I’ve also been playing with! I’ve been positioning directional lighting as well as shadows to help make the building both visually appealing and more realistic! Take a look at the kitchen! This actually is the brightest room in the building!

A FINAL NOTE
I’d like to mention here once again, that this game is a passion project, I don’t have a release window, and work on it for fun here and there. I’m not consistent with development, and hop on when I feel like making progress! Don’t expect anything to release any time soon, But look forward to the future is what I like to say! This game has been a creative journey for pure fun that sparked from my love for fnaf!
And lastly, thank you all for the support, until next time!
