It's that time again where I show off some stuff I have been working on, let's see what we have this time.
Options menu
Here's a peak at the options menu I have been working on! I will go over what each of these options do.
Gamejolt login: Pretty self explanatory.
Enable controller input: You can click on this option to enable controller input. I haven't added any controller support yet, it's one of the last things I plan on adding to the game before release.
Controller type: You can switch this to either Xbox or PS. This is only a cosmetic change that'll only change what button icons show when playing with controller.
Subtitles: Also pretty self explanatory. I plan on using similar code I used for Scratch and Friends 2's subtitles.
Touch controls: There is only one part of the game that requires keyboard input (Turning on the power via the maintenance computer). Enabling this will change it so you only have to tap the screen to turn the power back on instead of the space bar.
Update on night 8 (Wowie)
I finally nailed what I want to do with the finale of this game, It's going to be pretty good. (Atleast I hope so.) I can't say much without spoiling it, but it's going to be a challenging test of everything you learned throughout the game, requiring skill and good reaction times. I hope to finish this night by atleast January.
Custom night stuff
(Concept, not final)
I made this concept to sort of figure out what I want to do with this menu. I might make more concepts to figure out which one works best. I based this deesign off of the maintenance computer's visual style. If you're wondering what the modifiers stands for, it's something kind of like those custom night challenge mutators in A Bite at Freddy's. Those parts of that game are what inspired me to add modifiers. I might go a bit more in depth with these modifiers in a future devlog.
Misc. stuff
I finished some designs for characters on some of the later nights. There's just one more character I need to finish before I can say that I finished all the character designs. And if you're wondering, these designs are for some original characters introduced in the game, speaking of original characters, here's one of them:
V1RUS
V1RUS is an enemy introduced in the second half of the game. It's mechanic revolves around the security tab of the maintenance computer. While it doesn't kill you directly, it can cause a lot of issues in your run that can be detrimental if not dealt with fast enough.
End of devlog
This might be the last long devlog I put on here, I'll still be making devlogs, but they probably won't be as large. Next devlog will definitely be released after I finish night 8. That's all for this devlog, see ya.
