Devlog Day 2


Since the previous devlog I did some cleaning and got some things done and thus out of my head.

You could call it procrastination but there is value in creating a pleasant work environment. Also for me it is important ot get things off my mind.

A basic page on Gamejolt is up with some graphics borrowed from Darts and slightly modified.

Today I spent most of the day hiking and got a sunburn in the process. Recreation and sports I suppose.

I've had a few minor ideas but nothing substantial.

What I wrote yesterday about not aiming for compatibility with GB Studio was not quite correct, I do aim for compatibility in terms of graphics use. The character animations should be compatible at least. That also implies to use the same tile size. Perhaps the screen dimensions should be the same as well so I can properly reuse the backgrounds, but I'm not sure whether this is necessary. Ideally these things will be made configurable without hacking the module once this is a module. This might well be done post jam.

No work on the actual game has been done. I don't expect great strides during these next few days either for other reasons.
