In response to a letter sent to Security regarding the possible hijacking of NSD equipment by foreign actors, an internal investigation was conducted. This investigation uncovered a so-called “shock” forum operating under the name The Dead Drop. The forum primarily hosts static or prerecorded depictions of crime and tragedy, seemingly curated to distress or psychologically shock viewers.

Although the identities of the site’s operator and contributors remain unknown, Officer Gray identified a thread referencing a U.S. Marine patrol in Iraq that may be connected to an earlier data leak. The footage depicts four Marines conducting a nighttime patrol. During the recording, they observe an unidentified red anomaly accompanied by unusual audio. One Marine attempts to approach the phenomenon, but it vanishes abruptly, leaving behind several red, flower-like objects on the ground.

The site’s hosting provider has declined to release information regarding the domain’s purchaser, which may necessitate further procedural action.
