Dreamy Rainbow 3D Episode 4 – Update Summary
The new version of Dreamy Rainbow 3D Episode 4 will be released this month. This episode caused me a lot of trouble, mainly due to the engine — RPG Maker MV. Link: https://gamejolt.com/games/dreamy-rainbow-3d-episode-4/741994
Getting to the point:
1. Movement has been completely overhauled — it’s now much smoother, more responsive, and no longer based on moving from square to square (tile-based).
2. The fight with Goremen has been reworked — it now features multiple phases and is significantly longer and more intense.
3. The battle against Princess Luna has also been greatly expanded. It’s much longer, and she can be defeated in three different ways, including by completing two semi-hidden levels.
4. Characters now speak! Their voices are AI-generated. Some sound decent, others average, and a few are surprisingly good. This is an area I plan to improve further.
5. Combat is now more difficult and requires better timing and resource management.
6. A new stat has been added: Stamina. Only blocking consumes stamina — attacking no longer drains it. The previously planned dodge mechanic ("haste") has been removed.
7. Several hidden bonus levels have been added, with puzzles, extra content, and a conversation with the Element of Avarice himself — Lord Zalgo.
8. New death scenes and cutscenes have been added to enhance the atmosphere and storytelling.
9. Footstep sounds have been redesigned and now work differently.
10. Attack and block animations have been fixed.
11. Controls have been slightly changed: attack with the left mouse button, block with the right.
12. Hundreds of bugs have been fixed, along with many tiny details that aren't even worth listing — but they make a difference.
13. The field of view has been increased, giving players a broader perspective of the game world. It’s still fully customizable.
14. Optimization should be improved, but this can only be confirmed once more players try the game. To improve performance, the overall size of the game world was reduced.
I hope you’ll enjoy this episode and that it won’t cause any technical issues.
So, see you soon! Feel free to check out the game or add it to your watchlist.
Take care!
