We have plenty to discuss.
First, let’s catch-up on what we last talked about.

Previous Test Briefing
There’s a lot we discussed in our last test, and even shared a little taste of what’s to come for you to enjoy. Don’t believe me? You can always look and see for yourself, my friend.
We celebrated this test reaching 1 year old, and revealed both Snowdin’s Battle Theme and released an Unofficial Game as a Proof of Concept, as well as a Thank You gift.
We hired several new Team Members - @TheNormalAlbum

, @PuarGaming
, @karamble
, @SilUT
, @SkellyUT
, @MossFinder
, and @UndefeatableEscapistNew
.Showcased some of the new demo progress, such as the battle designs of the Ruins Monsters, as well as Ruins Sans.
Revealed the Ruins Sans Theme Name, Funeral.
Made Headway into Waterfall’s script writing.

Where we’re at now
Since then, a lot of things have happened. Some of the Team Members are busy due to a Winter Event that’s been going on, whereas some have been on break, school, and basically focused on other tasks and projects.
But that doesn’t mean we’ve done nothing. In fact, far from it. We’ve been hard at work in secret, developing the world you will soon be experiencing for yourselves.
Now, allow me to explain the progress on the Official Ruins Demo for Dusttale: Obitus.
Track Progress
6 Songs have been completely finished, and 3 are close to being finished. 3 more have yet to be worked on.
We also hired new musicians, @mono_chrome
and @BenLabno
!
Sprite Progress
8 Battle Sprites have been completely finished, and 2 more are close to being finished.
Battle Progress
6 of the battles in the Ruins have been completely finished, and 3 more have either yet to be started or in progress.
Overworld Progress
The Ruins Tileset is fully completed, with some overworld sprites needed to fully finish the overworld. The rooms are being built together, and since it recently started, currently we only have 3 out of 40 rooms done so far. But since most of the gameplay is put together, it won’t be too long.
Here is some of the progress on said overworld if you are curious:


Writing Progress
The Ruins writing is 100% finished, with only some slight changes if needed to be adjusted.
Engine Progress
The Engine has been 100% finished, so implementation of battles, overworld, and sprites are being done.
Demo Battles
Below are some of the battles you'll see across the Ruins.
Monsters down here are a lot tougher than what you would normally see down here.
So, allow me to show you...
GENOCIDE ACTS.
Genocide Acts are similar to how pacifist works.
Instead of using Acts to convince an enemy to spare you, you instead use acts to demoralize and weaken an enemy's defenses.
You can also see how some of the normal enemies are a lot tougher than normal, as well.

Beyond the Ruins
Now, as you can tell, the beginning of our journey is quite at hand. I look forward to many of you playing through it when I am prepared. Now, I bet you’re wondering, what about the areas beyond the Ruins? Now, I can tell you that our focus may not be outside the Ruins, but there was work done on it.
The Overworld Tiles for Snowdin and Waterfall have progressed, alongside some of the other areas such as Hotland, True Lab, and Muffet’s area.
New Home…? We’ll get to that place for another time. Don’t want to spoil you with anything too important to the experiment.
But the world’s story? It’s actually… completely done.
After half a year of sessions and hard work, every interactable, room, encounter, and dialogue is fully written - with around 35,000 words and 313 pages of writing done. Isn't that something?
Anyways, I think that’s enough about our little experiment.

Hello everyone!
I’m here to introduce you to something special.
I know the doctor isn’t exactly aware of this, but I wanted to try something new.
So, while the doc’s world is still being built, I thought It would be interesting to add something a little bit more… special to it.
So, introducing… a collaboration!
Between Dusttale: Obitus…
(Drum Roll)

Now, I'm sure you’re wondering what Undertale: Egoism is.
And to be honest, I’m still not sure myself!
I’m joking, I’m joking!
Anyways, Undertale: Egoism is an AMAZING take on Disbelief.
I mean, come on!
Amazing sprites, Amazing Art, and look at this!

Quite a difficult attack, don’t ya think?
(Imagine if I tried to do it, I would’ve embarrassed myself to be honest, hehe.)
But there’s plenty of stuff that’s all being prepared.
So yes, both worlds will both have stuff to showcase, with both having events from both worlds colliding!
Who knows what’ll happen?
