DUSTTRUST: DELUXE - UPDATE NO.2


Hello! It's been a few months, hasn't it? Let's get right to it, then.


New Branding.

Yes, your eyes aren't playing with you; we've rebranded Hypocrisy to a much more fitting name. This name was submitted by none other than @Fax0086 , who has been given a position in the team for her interesting ideas. From now on, this game is no longer Dustswap: Hypocrisy, it's now DUSTTRUST: Deluxe.

Now, onto gameplay.


Phase 1.

First of all--Phase 1 is almost complete. All the attacks, dialogue, music have been made. And, as you can see, the background got a mini-glowup inspired by one of the official DillyWolf-era Pre-Leak battle concepts, shown below.

We're currently working on fixing the current Hypocrisy sprite, but if there's a demo build, (which I'm absolutely considering) it'll more than likely use the one shown in the start of the devlog.

All of these attacks have been confirmed no-hittable by the one and only-- @QuinUT ! The Hypocrisy team applauds his efforts and he has earned a Puar. (None of you know what that means but folks in the team will understand.)

Long story short--Phase 1 is complete! Onto Phase 2.


Phase 2.

Decent amounts of Dusttrust Pre-Leak takes scrap Maniac's Revenge and the elements that lead up to it. I'm a huge fan of Maniac's Revenge (if that wasn't made painfully obvious several years back) and believe it's a crucial part to what makes Pre-Leak identify itself as Pre-Leak.

So, the form of Phase 2 has been kept unaltered, but we're finding ways to make it as good as people felt it was in 2020, without scrapping the theme that I felt made it scream "Hey, we're in phase 2 now! You're gonna die!"

The current Phase 2 is very bare-bones in terms of actual graphics, as the current sprite is a placeholder (made by yours truly) in impatience to the actual Phase 2 sprites production. Maybe Phase 2 will be more complete by Update 3?


Phase 3.

This one's a toughie to work with, we're stuck in conceptual phase since we're intending on a 3 person collab for the song.

We don't have sprites or any coding progress since we don't have music.

Conclusion.

All in all, we've been cooking a bunch of stuff since our last update, and we're already 30% complete! I expect a demo release at some point between Christmas and Valentine's Day, so stay tuned!!!

While you wait, consider following object-based games like: LIMELIGHT, UNDER DREAM ISLAND, and it's SEMI-OFFICIAL DISBELIEF COUNTERPART! They may be based on object shows, most of which are targeted to a young audience, but I promise you they have so much to offer!
