Ease Collection Update
Hi, sorry for going silent on development. I took yet another break. Now that its summer, development should speed up, but there has been some complications regarding the game files again. Unfortunately, I lost the game files again but I actually learned from last time and backed it up before I lost them. The only problem is that the backup is pretty old. Thats actually not a problem though. I have a clear design for all of the levels and I could easily remake them with my current programming and pixel art skillset (I also published all of the music tracks for the game on gamejolt so I can just redownload them). Although it would probably only take me around a month or two to catch up to the current version, I'm actually working on recovering the current game files right now. It seems like a promising method but I can't gurantee anything. Will this delay the game in the long run? No. My motivation and enthusiam for the game has already somewhat dwindled but there are three things keeping me from cancelling it:
This is the final Ease game, the absolute finale to the series (unless it gets rebooted or something but the chances of that happening are way below 1% at this point). To cancel this game would basically be cancelling the Ease series and leaving it as a bunch of broken Scratch games.
People have been waiting ages for this come out.
I have already put so many hours into this game and cancelling it would just waste all of that time.
Ease Prologue comic update
The entire thing is already written, all that's left is for the comic panels to be drawn. I already have clear pictures of the settings (considering it basically takes place in the same setting of Ease 1) so it shouldn't be too much longer. The purpose of this comic is really just to build the world of Ease up a bit before the games release and give more context. There was a prologue series of games planned but the story got a bit off the rails in my opinion. I think using a different piece of media to tell the backstory of Ease would better than making a trilogy of wacky prologue games with 3-year intervals between each one.
Pricing update
Now, I have kind of been flipping back and forth between the game being free or not. I'm just going to say that this game will be free (as well as the comic). The two-year wait for a working mini-demo covered the cost for everyone lol. In all seriousness though, I am not going to charge money for this game. However, I have actually been thinking about making a sequel to one of my old games that probably will cost something. I'm not going to make a game page for it until the game is at least 90% done because I don't want a repeat of this game's development with months in-between devlogs and years waiting for a product that probably could have been made in a month or two if I was more experienced.
