💥 Electra 💥 & more weird, orgasmic deaths! 💥

Vendetta is a fighting game that plays almost exactly like Crime Fighters (and was released under the name “Crime Fighters 2” in Japan):

“Somewhere in the slum of Dead End City… the Dead End Gang captures Kate, the “protégé” of one of the members of a rival gang, the Cobras.”

Above: Somehow, Kate managed to get the dual roles of a fighting protégé AND a damsel in distress! Impressive tbh

Above: One of only 5 of Kate’s animation frames.

Vendetta also happens to have has some of the most homophobic character design I’ve come across since I began this project.

Given all of the above, it’s not surprising that the game also includes the almost-omnipresent-in-fighting-games trope of Sexy Dominatrix Enemey (With A Whip).

The dominatrix enemy from Vendetta has no name. But she does have some very orgasmic looking death poses (see previous posts for more on that):

The other dominatrix character in this scene has a name, Electra (baggage anyone amirite?), and is from the video game Streets of Rage 2 & 3.

Above: Electra appears to be offering herself up while reacting to getting beaten.

It’s just dawned on me that prehaps beat-em-up style video games started getting into the Dominatrix trope to assauge/avoid the rising conflicts in the early 90’s about fighting games re: beating up women. Because, you know, perverse logic would dictate that if a woman enjoys serving punishment for a living, she would certainly not care, and even enjoy, being hit or killed by various crime fighting men?

…or maybe they just really liked Catwoman?
