We all live the same life as anyone else on Earth. We go to school, follow our dreams, and make something of ourselves. But there's a catch, monsters are real. No one can see them, but they exist and only you and/or select people can see them. They live in the hearts of people, sometimes we win, and sometimes they win. They're called Emotesters, they're the embodiment of all emotions, sins, accomplishments, phobias, etc. If you overcome them, they disappear. Some are permanent and harmless, they're a symbol of achievement. The Emotesters haunt people with potential, mental health issues, and bad guys.
A lot of people lie about different things. Some walk away, not enough get caught. There is one kid named Javier. Since he was 4 years old, he lied about a lot of things and got away with them. He is now 9 years old, and something changed. He awoke for school one day, a fluffy white thing appeared. It was purring on his bed. He screamed in terror and threw it out his window. He glanced out the window. It was gone. Javier thought it was a weird mouse. His house did have mice/rats, but this was different. He got to school with no problem. He saw his friend, he asked. “Javier, is my favorite girl dating someone? I’m just asking because I don’t think she is available.” Javier knew but didn’t want to disappoint him, he said. “Not at all.” Suddenly, he felt fur pressing against the side of his face. The white thing from earlier was on his shoulder. He was scared out of his mind. He went into the bathroom and asked. “What are you?” The white furball spoke. “I’m your white lie.
The White Lie
I’m here to say that you committed a small lie.” Javier asked. “What are you going to do to me?” “Nothing, I’m just gonna appear on your shoulder or anywhere near you. But the white lies you tell are victimless crimes, so don’t worry. The one thing you should worry about is bigger lies. The one that’s the most dangerous is my older brother, the blatant lie. Never tell a blatant lie! He’s so big and so open to the point that you can’t weasel out of them.” Javier now thought this was just dumb. “Yeah right Hairball, I can lie all I want! I’ve been lying to people since I was 4 years old. So, flick!” He flicks the white lie off of his shoulder and goes through the school day like normal. During lunch, a food fight occurs. Javier didn’t find it abnormal because things can go south pretty quick during lunch. But his friend approached him and admitted he started the food fight. He reluctantly took the blame for him. A new white furry the size of Javier steps in front of his friend covering for him. He is his Cover-up lie, he appears to cover and protect people from punishment and takes the fall for them.
Cover-up Lie
He was still comfortable lying. Eventually, his teacher comes over to him to tell him. “No homework again?! I’m gonna have to have your family come in and talk to me about this.” Javier began lying again “They can’t.” The teacher spoke, “Why not?” He said the unthinkable. “They have robot limbs.” A large muscular version of the cover-up lie appeared called the Blatant lie.
Blatant Lie
He began wrecking the classroom. When he was done, he said “Javier did it!” and disappeared. It resulted in Javier getting suspended from school for 1 month with in-school suspension permanently and some summer schooling.
The moral of the story is: Don’t lie about anything! It can wreck your summer and/or school year. You might have to take summer school or even repeat a whole year of school. Not all lies are victimless crimes! Even if you do lie, carefully weigh the outcomes!
