Just a girl trying to survive.

Dakota: 14 Years old, Omnisexual, Nonbinary, They/Them.

Your average Teenager just trying to live & support their friend.

ACT 1:

YEAR IS 1988 (idc there's stuff about Gender Identity & Sexuality that was barely known about & even less accepted in the 80s & 90s, this world isn't filled with Nazi's?)

(Just to be clear, there's like 30 minutes to an hour of gameplay before the shit below. There just isn't really any lore, it's really just there to get you attached to the characters.)

The story/lore begins in a bedroom. There's a sleeping girl who is 7 years old. Her name is May.

Out of nowhere, in the distance... there is the sound of a window shattering. It awakens May from her sleep & scares her, so she goes to hide under her bed.

From the other room, there are harsh screams of May's Parents, followed by Footsteps.

About a minute (In-Game (about 4-6 seconds irl)) later, the front door can be heard opening.

After building up strength, May crawls out from under her bed & goes to her parents room.

When she opens the door... she see's them... dead... slaughtered on the floor.

She tries her best to suppress the urge to vomit, but her body takes over & she falls to her knees & almost blacks out. From out the window, through her peripherals, she swears she can see something... something that looks like an Orb with a singular Eye in the middle, & 8 Triangular Shaped Wings, made of Pure Light... or... no? An Orb with a single Eye in the middle, & emitting some kind of eerie glow emanating off of it, made of Pure Darkness... or... no? Whatever it is, she cannot make it out.

Before she knows it... she passes out from pure shock.

The next day... May wakes up on the floor, yet, the bodies of her parents are for some reason no where to be seen, as if they weren't even there. Having no other option, May goes to her friend, Dakota's house.

She knocks on the door & Dakota answer's. Seeing May disheveled & covered in dry blood, they instantly take a step back.

"What the fuck happened!?" Dakota shouts, looking at May's face, which has dried tears & blood on it along with a general look of someone who has been through a lot & needs a break.

"May, a-... are you... okay!?" they exclaim as May just wraps her arms around them.

"D-Don't worry... you'll be safe with me... I promise."

Hearing the commotion, Dakota's Parents come down the stairs & see May.

"Oh my!" Dakota's Mom exclaims as she rushes over to May.

"You pore thing, what happened?" she says not expecting May to answer.

Her Dad, rushes over to the landline phone & calls the Police as fast as he can.

"Um, yes, my Child's friend just came over to our house, & she seems like... she needs some help. She's covered in Dried Blood, & her shirt has some Vomit on it. Clearly something has happened. Her address is (Says Address), & my address is (Says Address). Yes, please come over as fast as you can.

"Let's go get you cleaned up. You can wear some of my old clothes for the time being." Dakota says to May.

The Police show up at Dakota's House a few days later, it's clear they're confused about the situation.

"So we investigated the whole property, several times in fact, but... we didn't find anything but some dried blood in the parents room along with some shattered glass from the window. No bodies were found, & the blood... it had no DNA somehow." the Chief Officer says to the parents

"What? No bodies? No DNA? How is this possible?" Dakota's Dad asks to the Officers.

"We're not sure, we'll keep investigating & keep you updated."

(Some non-lore important stuff happens)

(But then... Some lore important stuff happens!)'

One day, May was leaving her School, she usually has Bullying Issues, yet, today was especially bad. When she was leaving the School, her bullies cornered her.

"Where do you think you're going." One says to her, not knowing the Trauma she just went through.

"Answer me when I'm talking to you!" They tightly grab her by the arm, she's shaking.

"Oh boo-hoo, little missy here is sc-sc-sc-scared." They say sensing her distress.

"Let's go teach her a lesson!"

They drag her to a Circuit Breaker. They then laugh & shove her into it, but one of the buttons had malfunctioned from the intense & sudden pressure causing it to shock her.

"...Guys... we should go..." One says, they scramble out of the school.

(Idk how to write this into the story, I'll just have it all explained in the game)

Several hours after May passes out... she wakes up.

"...what... what happened..." She says as she tries to get up, but she falls down immediately.

"ugh..."

Dakota & their parents, after not seeing May for hours, they go out looking for her.

When they walk into the School, they see her lying on the floor not moving.

"Oh my god!" Dakota says as they rush over to her.

"May! May! May please! Please wake up! Please! ...May... We have to call an ambulance."

Dakota's parents quickly look for a phone.When they do, they instantly call 911

"Hello? We just found our child's friend passed out in her school, she isn't waking up. Please come as quick as you can!"

While they wait for an ambulance to come, they try their best to wake up May.

"May... Hey dummy... please wake up... please... I can't loose you... If you're gone, I'll... please..."

Eventually, an ambulance does come, & they bring in May.

LATER AT THE HOSPITAL

"Well, there is a high electricity amount in her body... but... it isn't harming her. In fact, her body is actively adapting to it. We're not sure if we need to do anything, but we recommend keeping her in check. We're going to allow her to go home with you, but you should keep her under near constant check. Not saying she won't get privacy. Just check on her every I'd say 40-50 minutes." The Doctor says to Dakota's parents while Dakota is in the waiting room as they're too young to go see her.

"Ok, we promise to take good care of her." Dakota's mother says to the Doctor.

They roll her out in a wheel chair. She's fast asleep, although, it's highly unlikely she's dreaming.

(A few months in the future)

At this point, May had made a full recovery, but... something is about to begin happening. Something WEIRD.

"...May... I... really don't want to do this... but... I'm going to leave. & I don't know if I'll ever come back. But I promise... I promise I'll never forget about you." Dakota says to May at the dead of night.

"What? You can't... you can't leave!" She replies

"I'm sorry" Dakota hugs May tightly. "I have to. I have no choice.

Dakota pack her bag with some stuff. A Notebook, a Pencil, a Sketch Pad, some clothes, some Snacks... & the gift May gave to them a few years ago... a Heart Locket. They put it on & sling their bag over their shoulder before turning back to May.

"I'll miss you..." They jump out the window.

"No! Dakota! You can't go! You can't go. You can't. You can't... You... can't..." May says as she starts crying.

She then jumps out the window to go try & look for her.

It's pouring outside, she starts searching around.

"DAKOTA! DAKOTAAA! PLEASE!... Please..." she goes into an alley for shelter & curls up on the floor, crying, just hoping for Dakota to return.

"Dakota..."

She decides to turn back & go home.

The next day.

May decides to go out looking.

While she's out she has another encounter with her bullies.

"Well well well... look who it is." The leader says.

"Maybe... we should just leave her alone... I heard she had to go to the hospital." One of the members say.

"Are you stupid!? Like hell we're doing that!" The leader replies, then turns back to May.

"You're not going to get away from me." They take a step towards May. May backs up a bit.

"Why are you backing up!? You scared of me?" They take another step towards her, & May takes another step back.

"You scared I'm gonna hurt you!?" They take yet another step towards her, & May takes yet another step back.

"Hey!" They lunge at her & grab her shoulders.

"Respond when I'm talking to you!"

They engage in a battle.

I'm not gonna describe the battle because no. But it ends like this.

You choose the SPELLS option in the menu & pick "Electro-shock".

May involuntarily shoots her hands out towards the leader.

"What are you gonna do, curse me?" the Leader says.

Just then, electricity shoots out of her hands towards the leader. They get electrocuted, it's barely painful, but it makes them back up.

"Wh-What the fuck!?" The Leader says as they quickly run away.

Stunned by what has happened, May tries to figure out how to do it again.

"What was that? H-how did I... do that?" May says to herself.

"I can't... I can't do it again."

Suddenly her arms feel tired & weak.

"...I'm... going... home..."

TIME SKIP 9 YEARS LATER

YEAR IS 1997

May is now 16. An edgy, agile, try-to-be-as-utterly-KOOL-as-possible, teenager.
