FAZBEAR SIM - SCRAPPED CONTENT - 2

This time, we'll take a look at "How to Play" menu, that I decided to give up on.

(not so) Quick story, although it's in the (ARTICLE)


So basically, the story is - it was around 16 hours (or maybe 1 day?) before the deadline, and the release. I had some ideas for a tutorial which I know was really needed (turns out I was right)... but there wasn't enough time to make it, especially considering I had some other work to do with the game, before I make the "final" build. So I asked @kampe1234 to make a "Quick Guide" or something, that people would be able to see and get to the game. I didn't specify what exactly I want, and kampe asked me, "How much of a shitpost you want it to be?" and I said "... Yes.", which is why this happened xD Although I said yes, I didn't know he's gonna make the shitpost THAT big xD

The problem with the guide, was that it almost did not teach ANYTHING. There was no keybinds (default ones) specified for anything, no guide on how to build, more detailed I mean... there was no guide on how to set up your pizzeria menu, or open it, and it didn't explain... actually anything... Only really general tips. I mean ofc I don't blame him, he did put some effort even tho it wasn't really a good "idea" for such a game and we just needed something else, which I kinda take on myself. I could specify what exactly I wanted and then we would have the tips/tutorial/guide menu as I wanted. Turns out it indeed was really, really needed because players ended up on building some basic walls, and never serving even a single pizza. Only 5% of players sold at least one pizza, which includes 3 people from the team. It's really sad considering that it's one of the biggest and most important aspects of the game. Well, happens. This game didn't interest as much as I thought it would. Even GameJam judges decided that the game wasn't worth even mentioning.

Happens. Looks like I was wrong thinking that a concept like this... of an actual FNaF Pizzeria Simulator, with the freedom of building whatever you want, or how you want, or placing what you want, picking your own design, pizzas and everything... looks like it just wasn't an interesting enough, good idea.

In next post from the "Scrapped Content" thingy, I'm PROBABLY gonna talk about few ideas I was about to make post-jam, the ways how I wanted to upgrade the game, update it, and the content that was about to arrive after the jam. Which I still didn't decide if I should actually do or not, as the game didn't get much of an interest, especially considering that 5% of players that sold pizza, including me and 2 other team members. Or maybe even 3. This game is a bit of a failure.
