First Release

Hello followers of Double Helix

Our goal is to have Double Helix alpha released by December 2017, which is going to happen. Sheevron and I (hidaz) have been working for the passed week non-stop to get as many mechanics polished and textures filled in for the first release.

Bugs

There are a few bugs in the current build of the game, one of them being the GameJolt userdata / cloud storage library not working correctly. Secondly, there is an odd bug that only occurs on the blue side where if you are the host of a lobby, and join team blue you will gain a free point. And since you are the lobby host, every other player gets the same scores synced up. Lastly, is latency. Double Helix in its current state is not attacker-based, it’s victim based. That will change within the next few days. A perfect example of this system not working is if both players are far enough distance away from the server, and both players are going fast enough the game can’t react fast enough to register the death events. These are major issues, especially the blue-scoring and userdata issues that are really delaying us patching other bugs.

New content we want to add later

Since we aren’t robots, we can be creative. Sheevron and I want to design cosmetics you can earn by completing challenges and XP. This is obviously last place on our list, as fixing the major bugs is the #1 priority.

Thank you for reading, and even though the game is not even fully released yet, this just serves as a method for us being able to organize and speak our minds.

Just as Pecaminosa's musicians #improvise this rendition of #LittleSunflower 🌻, so do we improvise with this post you're reading. 😂

What's coming out of your own improvs? 🤔

Updated the chest in the maze, adding sound, particles and better animation. But what's in the chest?

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!

The Authority decided to investigate the Basement and leads to recovering classified documents Fun fact: The building has 928 doors and not 1000 doors. #horror
