This is a #gbjam entry. Around 8:30 I realized I couldn’t the entry I had been working on with @Meek_Nate to compile.
Since I wasn’t confident I’d be able to track down the issue and work in the final pieces needed to make our entry a ‘game’ worth trying out, I decided to just make a completely new, simpler game using entirely new assets in the time left
So here we are. The story is that you’re on a date with a sphinx. They want you to answer a series of qouestions. If you get too many wrong, GAME OVER and you are eaten. If you answer 10 questions without losing all your hearts, then the sphinx tires of you and you may leave.
This was something of a lark, but I would like to expand on it with things like longer questions, randomized question order, support for more than 2 multiple choice answers, decent art (including use of 4 colors instead of just 2), options for other (including males, robots, toasters, etc.,) Quiz and Dragons is one of my favorite games, so the idea of adapting this into something with more depth is very appealing. .. maybe after those other dozen prototypes we’ve been kicking around I guess @_@
Keep in mind this was a 3.5 hour creation, but critiques are certainly welcome.
