Hey everyone,
I thought I should update everyone as I am finally finished planning and story writing Five Nights Trapped all together. So allow me to inform everyone on what is expected of the game.
Part 1: Three endings
Yes, you are reading that right, there will be three endings which are simply the bad, the neutral, and the good ending. The bad ending will be the normal gameplay but if you find all the collectable "evidence" in post night 8-bit minigames and hidden in plain sight "death" 8-bit minigames, you can get the good ending which includes an extra night and special dialogue. However, if you get at least the first of the collectable "evidence" to get the good ending but you forget to get the second or third or fourth evidence, you will be locked into the neutral ending and the other evidence will not nor the secret minigames will no longer appear. BUT, you will get special dialogue from the phone guy, Will, and a different ending than the bad ending. If you are worried about finding this stuff when Five Nights Trapped releases, no worries! I will make finding the first "key" item to finding the "evidence" very easy to find!
Part 2: Night Five
I don't really like spoiling the finer details but I will this one time, night five is a boss night and a good ending exclusive. Yes, this means you do not "finish" or "complete your five day work period" unless you get the good ending. I refuse to have a night six which will be explained later. That being said, night five is special because the main enemies you'll face will become different. Some will become a monster, some will become more broken, and others will become who they really are. This was difficult deciding what to put as the final enemy because the original night five boss was a wendigo because the children that possess the robots merge but it didn't make sense whatsoever so this is better. Of course, this would be a very hard challenge, it'll be a very different because it's only time you'll have a different 3/20 mode.
Part 3: The Mechanics
Ah yes, the core of the gameplay. Honestly, it has been planned out for a while but now the mechanics have been fully fleshed out to have cause and effect. There are three characters you'll deal with (three "new" ones replacing the normal three in night five) and two of those characters have "defects" that hinder them either not by much to very much. That being said, the idea has always been to conserve your defenses which is still the case. But now, there's other defenses which can be a blessing or a curse. I won't go into detail but a main defense can send someone back but it might make the someone a bit faster and more aggressive but that'll all be revealed as you play.
Part 4: The A.I.
I mentioned briefly in the last section that by using your defenses, you can make an animatronic become faster. That is the idea, it's not coded yet but it's all planned / written down. However, there will be a baseline where the A.I. starts off at and it'll go from there and there will be a stun as a counter measure to one of the characters you'll deal with but it won't last forever BUT it won't make said character go faster. However, another character doesn't have a counter measure but depending on which camera you use the appropriate defense against them will depend how longer they take to start moving again at the cost of becoming faster depending on the same variable. And the last character? They simply do not become aggressive as you defend against them, but they have two phases of attacking you. This one may start being playful but they can turn furious if they fail and will go back to being normal when you defend yourself against them fully.
Part 5: A New Toy to Play With
This part is very small and it's inspired by FNAF Final Hours 1 and 2 by Aiden Kelley and Five Nights at Candy's 3 by Emil Macko. A radio that plays lofi music which will make the night feel more faster and maybe calms your nerves. It won't affect the characters / make the characters go faster but when you have to listen to audio cues to know things either good or bad, it would certainly help but it's just a niche thing that brings some purpose but not too much impact but can have implications to the gameplay.
Part 6: Minigames Galore
As mentioned above, there will be minigames which are fully planned and ready to be worked on! The death minigames won't occur naturally as it impacts the good ending so it comes with "certain" conditions. The post night minigames are different as, while they also impact the good ending, they always happen after all five nights where you leave / escape the storage facility or you can explore!
Part 7: Custom Night
It's no surprise that there will be a custom night even though there is no night six whatsoever. However, this is unlocked by getting the good ending, of course, but it may include a spoiler to something which typing this makes it sound very obvious but let the theories flow.
Part 8: The Storytelling
This has been an interesting part of development but I am glad that I can tell the story that is just FNAF's lore that includes FNAF 1, FNAF 2, FNAF 3, FNAF 4, FNAF Sister Location, and FNAF Secret of the Mimic. Yes, the game follows just these games. FNAF Pizza Sim, Help Wanted 1 & 2, and Security Breach do eventually happen but not in Five Nights Trapped's story as the game takes place around the same time as FNAF 3 (FNT's night one happens the same night as night one in FNAF 3). Ultimately, I'll explain more about the lore which ultimately will be in the book / google doc / pdf file I want to one day release explaining my version of the FNAF lore and where FNT falls into place.Part 9: The Part 9: The Trilogy is Planned
I'm going to be honest, Five Nights Trapped is not the only game. I said back in 2023 / 2024 that this game is apart of what I call "Maofdoo's Five Nights" series. There was gonna be five games, the last one being a VR remake but ultimately, there will be three games, one after the other. Some plot point will most likely make no sense and the sequels will most likely not up to how much content is in Five Nights Trapped but there will be a story. The gameplay may lack later on but the story will be how I want the trilogy to end and each aspect will have a lot of thought and time put into making it happen with something enjoyable to play.
Final Note:
Thank you all for reading, I know this is longer than usual but I'm really devoted to making this the best that it can be. Just like any future project I plan to make which I know since I'm going to college for game development, there will be games I'll make for everyone. That being said, I will be busy the next few weeks as I already have been for two weeks hanging out with friends, starting my first job, and getting my drivers license. It's all a crazy time but there will be time for game development because game development is what I'm good at and I want to make it all enjoyable and replayable. Have a great day!
