Florida has fired their head coach, Billy Napier. More below.


Napier has been fired after an unsuccessful stint as the head coach of Florida. Florida will be looking for their permanent head coach.

Here is Napier’s history as the head coach for Florida:

On November 28, 2021, Florida announced that they would be hiring their 28th head coach, Billy Napier, for the 2022 season, after he had a successful stint at Louisiana as the head coach. He replaced Dan Mullen as the head coach for Florida.

2022: Napier led Florida to a 6-7 record. Florida lost the Las Vegas Bowl 30-3 vs Oregon State

2023: Napier led Florida to a 5-7 record.

2024: Napier led Florida to an 8-5 record. Florida won the Gasparilla Bowl 33-8 vs Tulane.

2025: Napier led Florida to a 3-4 record before being fired after a 23 - 21 win over Mississippi State. Napier had an overall record of 22-23 at Florida, making two bowl game appearances and winning one bowl game in his three and a half seasons.
