FNAF TD v1.6 is now available to play! - 5 Unique maps, 2 new gamemodes, a new tower and much more!

Hello everyone! After a long period of silence I'm excited to announce that FNAF TD has gotten another long awaited update.

I'll try to keep this devlog short, since there is quite a lot to talk about. If you would like to see the full changelog, it is at the bottom of the post.

Maps

Let's start off with the biggest addition. At long last different maps have been added to the game. Not only do they visually look different, but they also change up gameplay.

Maps can have 1-3 lanes that the enemies can come from, obviously more lanes, the more difficult it is. At the moment there are 5 maps, however I plan to expand this number in the future.

New Gamemodes

There are 2 new gamemodes, Rush Mode and Nightmare.

modes.png

In Rush mode a new round will start every 15 seconds with no delay in between making it quite challenging. This mode is based off the original 0.1 version of the game where new waves would start every 10 seconds.

Nightmare mode, as the name suggests, is extremely difficult. Enemies hit twice as hard, are faster and have more health. This is by far, the hardest challenge in the game.

Also, your high-score for each gamemode is now tracked and you can submit those scores to the scoreboards!

New Tower

Everyone please welcome, The Fan!

Finally, one of the most iconic FNAF object is now a tower in the game. The Fan will shoot high-powered compressed air towards the mouse pointer. Upgrading it will make it do more damage and will increase it's firerate.

UI Change

The in-game UI has been changed to be more minimalistic and take up less space.

The old one put too much emphasis on generally unimportant information, so now the UI is much smaller, but still provides you with all the information you need.

The game's logo has also been changed, since I felt that the old one didn't fit the game very well. The new one has much less clutter and is clear and straight to the point.

Other Noteworthy Changes

Since there were so many changes and addition this update that I can't put into it's own category, I figured I'd highlight some of the more important ones.

  • There is now a fast-forward button that speeds up the game by 2x.

  • The Flashlight has recieved a new sprites, since the old ones are severely outdated.

  • The Cake now shoots towards enemy spawnpoints instead of 3 pre-determined directions.

  • There is now a hotkey for upgrading towers. Simply put your mouse over a tower and click the Middle Mouse Button.

  • The Pause menu now contains game and audio settings which can be changed on the fly.

  • The Game now has a Windows 32-bit, 64-bit and Linux build

And many, many more. If you would like to read the full changelog, it is at the bottom of the post.

The Future

Before saying anything I must reiterate that I am a solo indie game developer that works on this in his spare time, and unfortunately I don't always have it. Life has recently been taking priority and it will stay like that for the foreseeable future. Updates on the game might slow down severly, however that doesn't mean I will stop working on it.

At the moment, I am planning to release the game on other platforms, however this is also still an uncertainty. Please be on the lookout for more info on this and stay tuned!

Good luck and Have fun!

Thank you to everyone who has supported the game. This might be one of the biggest updates the game has recieved. Go download and play it now and tell me what you think!
