The cores of Aperture were actually HUMANS

They were all humans until they almost died in the neurotoxin accident, Wheatley said they would be still alive (eh? eh? no? fiiinee) if they downloaded their consciousness inside the cores, so all of them did, and they were ALIVE *yaaayyy*

So then the events of Portal 2 rolled in, and you know how it goes

NOW SPOILER FOR PORTAL 2 ENDING BELOW!!!!

During the ending, where Wheatley and Space Core were shot into space by Chell,

they were in space for about 2 years until the other cores FINALLY found a way to bring back Space and Wheatley back safely without being sucked in with them, and then after Wheatley and Space got back home, then the events of Lab Cores begin

The names of the cores are the same as they were humans, except for Rainbow, his real name is Riley

Also Rick and Rainbow are twin bros in my AU, they still are when they're cores

And Rick sometimes calls Virgil 'Future Brother-in-Law' bc Virgil is gay for Rainbow and Rainbow and Rick are brossss
