Hello everyone! It's been a LONG time since the last update, my apologies. I've been doing a lot behind the scenes to justify it, though! Starting with a pretty big one:
NEW MODELS AND ANIMATIONS
I've got two main characters for you today: Derek (that's who YOU play as!), and one of four main threats, the New Robot. Above are some of the animations made for the game. Initially, this was going to be the only content for the update, as it took me a whole week to do, but since I didn't I also have:
LIGHTING CHANGES
The other day, I noticed a pretty big issue: the game was lagging HARD. In my efforts for figure out why, I made some optimizations to the lighting and made it look better with less lights. Below are two examples that I think help to show it off. The rooms will have more detail later on, I PROMISE.


Next up, we have:
THE LAG PROBLEM
In the previous section, I mentioned a pretty big lag problem. In my efforts to fix it, I've not only tried changing the lighting, but also I've optimized my player code, my enemy code, and did some clever behind-the-scenes tricks with some objects. As it would turn out, it was actually the cameras the whole time!! I turned down the resolution enough to not make a visual difference, but improve the framerate by a whopping 4x!!! Now the game runs silky smooth.
That's about all I have for this update, a lot has been done and I plan to do a lot more! I have a list of things to improve upon and a lot of things I want to start adding! See you next week (unless I push it back again lol)!
