Fuck it we ball TRTA 2 will be real


After some careful deliberation, a couple weeks passing, and eating moldy bread without even realizing it, I have decided that I will in fact be working on a sequel to The Return to Alcatraz. There is no "might", there is no "maybe", there is only "will".

But I'm sure the first thing on your mind is, of course "When"?

Well first i gotta finish my current game lol. but after? Well depends on how I'm feeling but at the latest I'd wanna work on one/two more small games before starting work on this. I'd also prefer, but not require for OWAA 2 to be found or for the information on it to be less slim than it is now. Nevertheless, I don't wanna put it off for too long. The response to this game has been overwhelmingly positive, and I'd absolutely love to follow it up with a proper sequel for you fellas.

As for what the game'd be like? Well, I've mentioned it before, but I'd mostly wanna draw more from TRTF5 since this game mostly drew from 3 and 4. As you can tell from the image above, though, I'd definitely wanna lean more into that of the vibes from when it was just TRTF:R.

Don't count out things from later trtf5 being referenced, though. I, in particular have the idea of doing cameo ghosts (like how there were torture animatronics referencing other fangames), with one of them I have in mind referencing someone who's very, uhhh... insta-y? Man, it's hard to be subtle about that guy's name.

I also want TRTA2 to have a lot more to it than its predecessor. I don't regret the minimalist approach I had to this game, but I definitely wanna have a noticeable uptick in quality from the original. Like, you'll be able to tell that the budget went from $0... to, uh, still $0 but I tried even harder this time!

Definitely not gonna be as ambitious as TRTF5 actually was, though, god no. I'm gonna try to keep my standards realistic and not try to overshoot what I can reasonably do.

Hi! I don't usually do this but i have now uploaded a browser version of this game. there's not really any new content (i'm saving that for a potential major update) buuuuuuuut if you wanted this. here you go
