soooo yeah, weeks of suffering on this broken ass 1.2v build i've got.
countless months, dozens of-a ragequits, all-a the p-ranks on both normal and death modes (unfortunately except two arenas on floors 4 and 5 but i've got the first 3 floors and the top arenas so fuck off lmao).
the game itself asked me if what i've done was worth it and let me tell you - it abso-fucking-lutely wasn't. yeah, infinite speed as a final reward is cool and all... but. you can't use it anywhere. yes, you could run laps around the arena at mach billion and you can go insanely fast and keep adding speed in some levels like bloodsauce dungeon and crumbling tower of pizza's long hallway with boosters, but that's it. you're not given a proper playground to test this speed in, without having to bump into a wall or and obstacle that you just won't have time to react to that is, you're just given a massive amount of power that you just can't use. the game itself fucking taunts you about going for full completion with it asking whether it was worth it or not.
not to mention the fact that the 1.2 version breaks some levels, like Oregano Mirage, Peppibot Factory (PF) and You Bring A Light (YBAL) arena, and while the first has some annoying workarounds to get a chance to get a p-rank, the rest just lock you out of even trying to go for it. PF spawns you behind an unpassable wall and YBAL has a death mode with no timers to refill your clock and a secret treasure which, mind you, cannot be obtained in an arena in any way. my only options were to either cheat where possible, go load an earlier build of the mod (which runs like shit and which i didn't even have at the time, i had a friend pass me the link to it just to fucking complete those levels) or give up, which i've done only with the arena, i managed to finish the other two.
not to mention countless errors with the gimmicks, which don't work sometimes, for example the pizza box not receiving any boosts from the boosters in PF, enemies who either have their colour palletes be swapped to their hard mode variants only upon death or are sometimes a garbled mess in some levels, like the cheese poltergeist from wasteyard.
the main few things i liked is that you can go fast as hell in some levels if you know the right way and you can handle some abilities well and multiple playable characters, as well as the overall inclusion of the death mode as an option, but it just wasn't all that great. fun, but not great.
NOW SPOILER ALERTS ABOUT THE KEY HUNT IN CASE ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO TRY THE MOD OUT AND READS THIS FOR SOME FUCKING REASON LMAO
the key hunt is also an additional thing to do once you've had your fun with the levels. two words: massively flawed. not only doesn't the golden pizzaboy (TGB) give you enough hints as to where the keys are located at, there's just asbolutely close to no indication where the hell the damn keys can be. i found most of them by complete accident and there was no indication that something was there (at LEAST in the 1.2 version i have).
overall, this mod can be completed but only if you're a masochist and if you have a lot of time and a powerful pc to run the earlier build of the mod on, as well as the guide for the key hunt. have fun lmao.
okay i'm not sure why the fuck would anyone read an angry rant of a random girl on a random game's random modification but if you've read this gj mate
TL;DR i've had a decent experience with the mod but it just left a sour aftertaste from its massive flaws and my hardware's performance when it came to 100% completion. |:(
