It is not "just like other technological advances," it is literally stated in the post my comment is on that it's just not. Other technological advances were made to make things easier for humans, not steal from and replace humans. And "gatekeeping?" Nobody is gatekeeping art, you're just a whiny little bitch who apparently can't buy paper (usually like 2-5 dollars depending on where you get it) and a pencil (also 2 dollars, but you can get them for free if you look on the floor. People drop pencils all the time) and watch a "how to draw" tutorial (free to watch on YouTube.)
A lot of people do requests for free? You can find them literally everywhere. People who have "requests open" in their display name on Twitter, Deviantart, Tumblr, Bluesky, and even this site, are usually are the ones who do it for free, and every single one of the sites I listed are free to use, as opposed to AI image generators that require a monthly subscription, which is usually more expensive than everything I've listed above. And even if you weren't making your own art before AI, guess what you also weren't doing? Stealing someone else's work and claiming it as your own. If you don't even want to be an artist, then don't try to fake it with AI. If you don't want to do art, then just don't. Nobody is forcing you to post images online.
AI does not make art "more accessible," and artists are not these high class beings that want to gatekeep from the commoners. Art was already so accessible that you could literally just be bored, download Autodesk Sketchbook and doodle on your phone (which you obviously have if you can just sit on your ass and type prompts). AI is replacing artists, not making art more accessible.
