Another one, is here. I forgot, so It’s a bit late, but here it is! The Game Dev tip of the week and game of the week!
Game Dev Tip of the Week:
Experiment. Don’t go and take one look at an engine and be like “oh, that looks too confusing” Because it might not be. Don’t waste plenty of good engines like that. I’ve probably tested most every engine out there, and I finally found a good one. And if you don’t understand a tutorial, just experiment. Explore the engine, see what it has, make a couple of sprites or models, (very simple ones) and try and get them to move, and do things. If you don’t at least try them, then It’s stupid to go and say “Oh, well, guess I couldn’t find a good engine. Guess i won’t be a game developer”. Don’t be like that. Test out the engine, and experiment.
Game of the Week
This week’s game of the week, for the first time, isn’t an online game. This week’s game of the week is Game Dev Tycoon. Game Dev Tycoon is brilliant. You play as a game developer, starting out in the 70’s, trying to make it big in the vidoe game industry. You can check it out here. It’s also good, because if you don’t care to buy it, at least try it out with the demo. This is a bit of a shorter blog post, mostly because the game is explained on the site, and not here. Check me out next week, and see the game of the week, which it’s initials are KAG. Try and guess, and goodbye. :D
