Hello everyone, welcome back to another big rant about Starry. But let's start with some statistics!
70% of the envs are done
25% Coded
85% Voice Acted & Scripts Done
65% Artwork Done (Including Concept artwork)
Do not take any numbers to be the exact value; a lot of other percentages were not shown.
There is a lot of work to be done, including creating numerous animations and models, as well as coding the game itself. We are really trying to implement a scare factor and show a really impressive game. The reason the coding is very down is just due to our focus on the environments first.
The biggest issue we're facing is getting a properly optimized game as environments are taking a lot of GPU, and we've seen dips of like 20FPS to as high as 120.
We are still hesitant about showing a release month for the demo, but we are almost sure of a 2026 release. But we have an expected date, but I don't want to make a lot of promises when we aren't sure.
I quickly wanted to give a huge thank you for the support on the trailer; it was really incredible to see the support, especially on Twitter. We see you all and are so grateful for the fans who keep supporting us.
Please know updates are gonna be a bit slow as I (MoonLight) am starting to get much busier. I'm trying to keep a good balance between my personal life and Starry.
We really want a distinct style and just to look good, and working on those environments is really hard to keep that, but in the end, it looks absolutely incredible.
I don't want to say too much and spoil bits of the game, but the whole team is creating incredible things, and I'm so happy to be able to say I make this game. I also did not wanna make a new community update, so uhm, we have this ^_^. Also, we updated the Gamejolt + Itch with new screenshots.
Anyway, hope you have a great rest of your day/night, and you know it'd be great if you could share this with anyone! Byeee and thanks for reading my rant, lmao!
Anything shown/mentioned is all subject to change; nothing is final yet.
The first devlog was the Community Update Video.
