Two largely incompetent main antagonists from popular franchises who's main goal (and overall obsession) is to capture a certain species of mythical creatures (the Smurfs and the Fairies) they had a history with, which goes back to childhood (with Crocker having his own Fairy God Parents as a kid and Gargamel coming across a Smurf when he was younger and studying them), to which they plot out schemes in order to capture said creatures in their personal lair (Gargamel with his castle and the Crocker Cave for Crocker). Both also had a rather rough childhood and (initially for Crocker) a poor relationship with their mothers (With Gargamel's mother often mistreating and resenting him for failing Wizard School, while Crocker's mother was noticeably absent during his childhood but it's actually kind of the inverse of Gargamel's relationship, since it's Crocker who resents his mom due to making him miserable).
