how the hell do the data select screens even work
what i mean is that how does it know when a character dies (like lets say sonic dies but knuckles lives blah blah blah) i know it has something to do with global values or something like that but im asking this cause i dont want to copy and paste the routes if a character dies (like i put ---knuckles route IF SONIC DIES--- or something like that, i feel like the full release for the game would take longer if i just do that, if anyone knows how that works, help would GENUINELY be appreciated (uh if you need me to explain it more i will)
