This takes place during the Roscoff incident during Guts and Blackpowder from a British perspective ((Rowan)) He has to fight against the zombies that lurk outside. 

As the French hold him and his group in a church the United States Marines are fighting the cannibals outside.

 After the battle they break in to see a scared French soldier who was blocking them. 

Because he was terrified yet they spared him yet gave him a warning as this will have consequences later on.

As soon as the Americans barge in the church they saw the tied up british infantrymen there yet they plotted on leaving em.

But as soon as they were about to continue Rowan instantly pleaded for the Americans to not leave them here.

So as the americans discuss an American officer Named Henry Smith decided to listen and ordered them to untie them.
