Gun Interactive, the multimedia development firm behind the upcoming "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" asymmetrical-horror video game, has announced pricing details and pre-ordering information for the game's release. The physical edition of the game will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on August 18th, retailing for $39.99 USD. The first wave of physical releases will include an exclusive poster featuring the game's cover art for a limited time while supplies last.
Additionally, "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" will be available on Xbox Game Pass on its launch day. The game is set in the months leading up to the events of the original 1974 film, featuring authentic recreations of locations, characters, and imagery from the source material. Players can control either the Victims or members of the Slaughter Family, including Leatherface, in a 3v4 cat-and-mouse game. The Victims must use stealth and smarts to escape their tormentors, while the Slaughter Family employs brutal and murderous attacks to hunt their prey.
"The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" will launch on August 18th, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass for Xbox and PC platforms.
