Gutting this project, switching engines

I don't want to detail specifics of WHY I'm doing this bc I don't know the GameJolt audience well enough to gague a response to that. But basically, I just realized I was never going to be happy with LMS if I forced myself to continue in Ren'Py.

So after a LONG internal debate I've made the decision to switch gears and do something different. The overall story concept is the same, but I honestly like the idea of a topdown-... "RPG" feels wrong. Adventure? idk. ANYWAY, I like that better than the Point n' Click thing, so I'm doing that. And it's being done in Godot now. Yayyy.

Plus the pixel sprites are cute, so that's a fun bonus :]

This week's progress: fixed broken interaction system, added title screen, started on settings menu, added transitions for changing scenes :D Next goal: Either inventory or save system, we'll see which one infuriates me less lol

Tiny victory of the day: First stage of inventory system is functional!

Two little arrows gave me SO MUCH trouble it's insane 😭

But hey, I've added 1 new room, 1 new suspect, and 1 new UI feature. A nice balance :]

Avery finally got a much needed design update that I've been meaning to do for like ever-

They are now a falcon :]

Evidence Log UI is coming together ^^

Just gotta add a way to expand the testimonies to read them while in the menu

I also did some environment art but uhhhh I drew Elaine's computer way too small so I gotta make some adjustments before I can share that

I lied, I got mad at my code so I'm sketching some sprites now--

been a minute since I worked on LMS; I forgot about placeholder Avery's lil side-eye lol

girl's so sus of EVERYONE I love her <3

Here's a peaceful little forest scene for this #screenshotsaturday, from the beginning of the game.
