One year already!?
Back on the 26th last year I took to the FNaF subreddit to ask if people would be interested in my fangame (The Awakening), and I was surprised to see a decent amount of attention and people saying that they would like to play the game. So later I got my Gamejolt account set up alongside the game page, and then let people follow it there. It gained a bit of attention on there and on the 27th I released the game to the public after adding in a minor feature (the ability to go back to the main menu instead of just exiting the game there), which with the lack of testing caused a bug with the tapes. Thankfully barely anyone had found those yet, and I quickly put out the update to fix it.
Since then, The Awakening has gained a lot more attention than I ever thought it would, and I've been really surprised to see the positive reaction to it. Even if everything I make after The Awakening isn't as good, I'll forever be glad that I made at least one thing that many, many people enjoyed.
I just want to say thank you to all of you guys, because Phobia has been just a thing I made for fun for a very long time, and it's something that means a lot to me, even if it's as silly and weird as it is. To me it's not exactly "The Wiggles FNaF", it was that at first, years ago, but over time it became a fangame that included the five (six if you count Jimmy the Elf) The Wiggles characters but was set in a very different universe and wasn't entirely about them. You'll see more of that soon!
I also want to thank everyone who had posted videos of themselves playing the game on YouTube. Watching so many different people react to the game was an absolute blast (and really surreal), and there were even YouTubers I sometimes watch who had played the game. I remember waking up one September day after a long overnight shift at my job, only to find Dawko playing Phobia. I sat up in bed and turned the volume up on my phone to its max and just started smiling like a total idiot. Much love to Dawko, he's one of my favorite YouTubers because of his positivity and also his passion for the FNaF franchise. I hope he revisits The Awakening someday to finish it, but that's totally up to him.
Again, thank you to everyone! I can't wait to keep showing off more to you guys in the future! Over the course of today there will be new posts scheduled to pop up every hour, so keep an eye out for those!
