Hey all, happy, I wish you a happy, happy Halloween! (Silver shamrock)
I just wanted to check back in to let you guys know how progress on the game has been going thus far. A lot of good work has been done in the last couple of months, and this game is now closer than ever to resembling a complete product than it has in any of its previous incarnations.
The main bulk of the game, the main office section, is currently the closest to completion. As of now, it's only missing a few textures. After that, it's all balancing and polishing. It was the biggest hurdle in the game's development due to the nature of the AI used. I'm very excited for all of you to face off against what's to come.
Additionally, many secondary game sections have been worked on and at least already have a working framework to go off of. This means that they have their mechanics already programmed in and are only missing things like AI and general polishing. These secondary sections don't hold a candle to the size of the main night, so I should be able to breeze through development of these particularly quickly.
There remain a few miscellaneous parts of the game that haven't been worked on but already have assets made for them. These parts are considered to be "one-off" and can comfortably fit into later in the development cycle. Right now, I'm ensuring that the game has a working "skeleton" so that I can find and remove and core issues that may be part of it.
Also, I just wanted to celebrate 6 years of Wonderland: Haunting of the Hallow's Eve! I spent so much time trying to bury this game under the quality of the new one, but I've honestly come to grow quite fond of it. Besides, it's not like any of us can ignore our past forever. Sometimes, the only way to solve the problems at hand is to find the answers in what came before.
