Two years? Already?!
From just being unpublished levels in a game titled Little Big Planet 3 from 2015 to 2018, to being real functioning games for PC from 2019 to onwards, and then eventually becoming a public thing in 2021, these "The Wiggles puppets FNaF" games have technically been around for a very, very long time. They went under many different names and such, but the core concept stayed the same.
Curious? See a little more on that here!
Whenever I look back at all the old games, never did I think I would release anything related to it. I felt the concept was just too odd with it being this alternate FNaF-like universe with The Wiggles. Really, they were just for dumb fun hence why it doesn't really use the source material to its fullest. It's really grown on me, and so I've decided to keep it that way for my own creative freedom.
Seeing people play it on YouTube, make fan art, and even just talk about it has all been pretty surreal. I don't think I've even fully thought about it yet, honestly. It's pretty crazy.
Thank you all so, so much for your support, your kindness, and also your patience! I've met some really nice people during these past two years, and being here has been a bright light during a time where I haven't been feeling my best, honestly. I love to excite and surprise people, and I do try to stay positive online as well, because seeing people happy makes me happy!
Anyway, that aside, what do I have in store for the future of the Phobia series?
First off, Phobia will very likely consist of four games. I've been doing some planning ahead of time for the storyline and where it'll go from here, and I think it's pretty exciting. The fourth game, as it's currently planned, may be more narrative driven to act as a proper conclusion to the storyline, and so it'll likely be a pretty different game from the rest.
With me learning Unreal Engine 5, Phobia chapters 3 and 4 have a chance of being developed in it, and while this may be unfortunate to those who have weaker PCs, I do want to make the move so I can get used to something more professional, and just far better in general. Plus, many people have encountered a weird white screen issue with The Awakening that they'll no doubt encounter when trying to play Long Hours once that releases.
However, with me still not that used to UE5, there may be quite a gap in time between Long Hours and the third game, as I do want that one to be just as good as the previous games.
Remasters of The Awakening and Long Hours may or may not happen, but we'll have to wait and see for now. The Awakening might get a VR version at most, but I don't think any of the other games will at the moment.
As for Long Hours' development, I've said it's been pretty slow as of lately, but things are still doing pretty good. The sound effects being made by Wolfdog are super, super cool, and we can't wait to see people's reactions to them! I'm hoping to get the game finished by the first quarter of next year, but we'll have to wait and see. Fingers crossed!
So, what else do I have in store?
Well, I AM learning Unreal Engine, and I think I'm going to try making a totally new FNaF fangame in it that plays out similar to how the Phobia games do. Not entirely sure what it'll be right now but keep your eyes peeled!
There'll likely be other games I'll make, some FNaF related, some not, but later on down the line I'll be trying to take game development more seriously, and I do think that some of you may like what I have planned. It's too early to share any of it, of course, but I do want to make that come sooner!
I know my YouTube channel has been pretty dead, and I also know there's still that part 3 for that one series, but I just haven't given myself the time to do anything like that, sadly. I might make some weird animations or something, but I'm not too sure.
Anyways, take care, and I hope you all have a wonderful day!
