First one in the Samurai Shodown series. Samurai Shodown is one of SNK's most popular fighting game franchises due to it's uh.. Aesthetic and also gameplay... but it leaves a lot to desire in the first entry

• Gameplay

4-button fighter where instead of doing flashy attacks and combos you do minimally calculated flashy attacks since the damage is busted as crap and a lot of attacks can and WILL leave you punishable. You can do small chain combos starting with LK but that's about it. Also you can run forward but it can't be cancelled into a jump so good luck if you get your intrusive thoughts (also for some reason its hitbox is all over the place). Instant counter attacks deal a lot more of damage than normal ones.

There's this one mechanic called POW bar which fills itself everytime you receive damage that once full can boost your own damage. Also you can do Weapon Clashes against your enemy so you just tap tap the button until whoever comes loser gets their weapon thrown out of his hands.

• Haohmaru Overview

He at least has decent normals. He's a shoto-type of character, he has a "fireball" (which is actually just a ground tornado) and a rising attack. His moveset would be pretty useful... if these wouldn't be awfully easy to punish.
