Hello! I am currently working on a FNaF game in GameMaker Studio 1.4. And i need help with a few timer related things.

So, when i was making the clock, i noticed that the night that should normally last 6 minutes, lasted a bit over that, 8 mins and 30 secs to be exact. Could anyone please tell me how to make a timer using the Delta time function? Because i cannot figure it out for the life of me. And while on that topic, if someone could explain how to make character timers via delta time, it would be very much appreciated too. Thanks in advance!
