Here are my top 3 FAVORITE gamedevs. 3 being the lowest, 1 being the highest. I'll be ranking off of video/devlog quality, and game quality.

3 - Sam Hogan:

Sam Hogan is a Unity game dev. He has made a couple games and devlogs that you may have seen. His most famous creation is Stick With It, a 2D rage game.

In the game, you play as a blue blob, who has to stick to walls, and platforms, but not spikes. Now, you might be saying, "That just sounds like any other platformer, but... blob." That's where you're wrong. See, to control your character, the blob, you have to have a fast reaction time. There's an arrow on top of the player, that goes left and right really quickly. Once tap, or press a key, the blob will move on that direction of the arrow. No wonder it was a rage game. This caused for some hilarious lets-plays videos. So, is the game good? Ignoring how rage inducing it is, yeah, it's great. 9/10. Now, his videos/devlogs. They have some decent effort put into them. The only thing I wish was that his videos were a bit more funny. But, that's too late, since his last video was 5 years ago, and it doesn't look like he'll be returning any time soon this decade. His videos? 7/10. Sam Hogan overall? 8.9/10.

2 - Dani/DaniDev:

Dani is probably the most widely known game dev. He's funny, he drinks milk, he uses Unity, what can I say? His most famous creation is Karlson, which you can wishlist on Steam, by the way, I'm just saying.

Karlson is a 3D shooting game where the goal is to... get milk. He's very obsessed with milk. It is heavily inspired off of the P0rtal game, by Valve. He even said it himself in some devlogs. But anyways, there's only a public demo of Karlson right now, but it's pretty outdated, and would be unfair to rank it by that alone. So, I'll just be judging off the devlog gameplay. First of all, the graphics are actually pretty good. Considering how most of games graphics look... okay, Karlsons lighting is actually pretty surprisingly good. The gameplay is a shooting game, which I don't play much of anymore, but it looks fun. And there was actually a story, which was escaping the facility you're in, so, props to that. Overall, if Karlson released right now, I'd give it an 8.9/10, and if the fully polished game released, which will be never, I'd give it a 10/10. Now, for his video quality. He has made much, MUCH more than just Karlson devlogs. Including a game called Crab Game. A multiplayer Squid Game parody. This was made when Squid Game reached its peak. There's also MUCK, a rouge-like survival multiplayer game. Those devlogs have some HIGH quality. This guy doesn't even hire an editor, by the way, he edits it all himself. Which explains why his 69th video hasn't released... and his last video was 4 years ago. It's a common trend that any famous gamedev will disappear eventually. Dani's devlog quality? 10/10. Dani, overall? 9.8/10. Cuz there's one more gamedev, who is my personal favorite.

1 - Jonas Tyroller:

Jonas Tyroller is my favorite game dev of all time. His most famous creation is... WILL YOU SNAIL!

image.png

Will You Snail is a rage platformer where you play as a snail called Shelly, and this evil AI named Squid is trying to predict your next moves, and once calculated, places spikes in your way to intercept you. As you play further, you discover the hidden secrets of Squid, and the lore of the simulation. Already, cool concept. Now, if we go into the real game, it's peak. For a 2D game, it's graphically beautiful. The snails movements are buttery smooth, and Squid has over 1000+ voice lines, so he can comment on pretty much anything the player does. The lore is also interesting. I won't spoil it, but, know that it focuses on Artificial Intelligence, and its downsides. Overall, Will You Snail is a 10/10. Masterpiece. Now, how's Jonas's content? At the start, they are a little lack luster, but watchable. Now, his videos are well edited. Now, we don't stop here. Because Jonas actually gives some game dev advice, and some pretty good ones too. My favorite is this. "Building a game is like making a pyramid. At the start putting the first bricks are easy, but as it continues, it gets harder, and harder. But, eventually, you'll be proud of your pyramid." The only problem is my bricks are crumbling, and my pyramid has fallen. I say that I make games, not good games. Jonas's content? 10/10. Jonas overall? 10/10.

Honorable mention: Toby Fox is a great game dev. He made Deltarune, which is my favorite game of all time, a 10/10. He doesn't make any devlogs, but he's pretty cool.
