Hey guys, Mathnoc here. It's not really a good idea to eat 12 Uranium rods, the entirety of Chernobyl, and a nuclear bomb as powerful as Hiroshima.

Some of you may know that one gram of uranium is equal to 20 billion calories, whether you've scrolled on youtube for a long time and happened to stumble upon a video containing this information, or a friend DM'ed you to share the fact.

But it's only single gram of uranium. We can do better than that.

A singular uranium rod is 234.6 cm³ large and 19.1 g/cm³ dense, so its mass would be 19.1 × 234.6 ≈ 4,482.86 grams. For every gram of uranium in the rod there is 20 billion calories, so multiply our 4,482.86 grams by 20 billion to get roughly 89.66 trillion calories.

To put that into the American perspective, one KFC bucket is about 3720 calories. You would need about 24.1 billion KFC buckets to match a singular uranium rod.

Then again, I said 12 uranium rods, not just one. The short answer is, that's just about 1.07592 quadrillion calories, or 289 billion KFC buckets.

Oh, we're not done just yet, though.

The Little Boy bomb dropped on Hiroshima had about 20 kilotons of TNT. One kiloton of TNT is somehow about 4.184 billion calories. Multiply that by 20, and we have 83.68 trillion calories in one single bomb.

That's the lowest it could've been. The Little Boy bomb held 64 Kilograms of Uranium, or 64,000 grams. So, one again, one gram of uranium has 20 billion calories... we have 1.28 quadrillion calories for the Hiroshima bomb.

But this is barely scratching the surface.

Chernobyl, one of the most infamous nuclear reactors to ever exist, had a staggering 190,000 kilograms of uranium in it. We are multiplying 190,000,000 (190 million) by 20 billion. Ladies and gentlemen, Chernobyl may be one of the biggest actinide feasts to ever exist. We are talking...
3.8 quintillion calories.

Again, because you can't even begin visualize it, we are talking 1.02 quadrillion KFC buckets. If all 8.231 Billion people on earth had to eat a singular KFC bucket a day each, it would take 339.5 years to eat all 1.02 quadrillion buckets.

...

A feast fit for CaseOh.
