If you have any suggestions about what to talk about next then please let me know <3
But anyway!
Now to start off let me explain what a shift is:
A shift is a change in a state of being from their human state to a state of their non human identity.
‼️But again a lil disclaimer: NOT ALL THERIANS OR KINS SHIFT‼️
So now imma explain all the shifts that I know of!
Mental shift: When a therians thought pattern shifts to one of their theriotypes.
Phantom shift: Experiencing a body part that isn’t physically there, or is altered from the human body.
I can explain more on this shift since I’ve experienced phantom shifts before <3 If you don’t understand what I mean basically what happens to me is I feel a cat tail swaying but it’s not actually there. It’s just a feeling that you have it but in reality you don’t have it. I know for other therians it’s more detailed and it REALLY feels like it’s there even if it’s not but this is just my experience!
Sensory shift: When the most important senses change to those of your theriotype. This I have also kinda experienced. So another example: I have a cat theriotype which is a calico cat so sometimes my hearing gets a bit better when I don’t even realize and I may get better smell.
Perception shift: when you perception changes to the perception of your theriotype. This means how you expect things to be perceived is different from how you look as a human (sorry if that makes no sense😅) So for example: When I experienced this shift for the first time my mind was expecting to see a calico cat in the mirror but it was me as a human. It basically surprised me (startled I guess?) But then I realized that my mind set kinda shifted to thinking that. I’m fully aware I’m human but that’s just what that shift does to your brain <3
Dream shift: When you take the form of your theriotype or experience any other shifts while in a dream. Basically if you go to sleep and dream of your theriotype or you get any other shift while unconscious.
Spiritual shift: Any shift that requires for your therianthropy to be a spiritual experience in any way.
(Spiritual shift): Aura shift: When your aura takes the form of your theriotype.
(Spiritual shift): Astral shift: When you take the form of your theriotype in an astral plane. Basically when your meditating for example
(Spiritual shift(?): Bi-location shift: When you feel like you’re in two places at the same time. Often your human place and turn theriotypes habitat.
And another shift that you can have before I get into the other shifts that aren’t well known or I guess canon is:
The cameo shift: Which means having a shift of a theriotype that isn’t yours. So let’s say your theriotype is an otter but you have a dog shift. It doesn’t always mean that it’s another theriotype it could mean it’s just a cameo shift :3
Physical shift: this shift is DEBUNKED. Us therians can NOT physically shift. We are human and cannot change our physical appearance to an animal.
If you think you are able to physically shift then that is NOT therianthropy. That is a symptom of Clinical Lycanthropy.
Clinical Lycanthropy: A mental disorder where Someone has this delusion they ARE an animal physically and like I said this is NOT THERIANTHROPY AT ALL. But if you see someone that has this disorder then please don’t bully them. Please just encourage them to go seek mental support and help.
Shadow shift: This shift is debunked kinda? It basically means when a room is dark and dim and you see yourself in a mirror you see the silhouette of your theriotype in the dark. This isn’t really a true shift. I'm convinced it could happen but it’s half debunked by the community. Since this kinda like a physical shift a lot of therians in the community think of this shift to be a hallucination rather than an actual shift since your eyes do kinda mash stuff up when it’s dark so you see things.
So yeah! That’s all the information I got on those shifts and those 2 debunked shifts!
If you want me to talk about anything else your confused about then please tell me in the comments! <3
I’ll be happy to help!
