"Uncle Oscar!" The boy exclaimed, jumping into his uncle's arms. Oscar twirled the boy around, and he giggled excitedly. "Put him down, Oscar. You know he gets sick easily." His sister said, gripping her purse strap.
“Hey, Uncle Oscar.” The boy’s brother, Harvey said casually. He was 4 years younger than Terrance, but somehow he was taller and more mature.
Oscar set his nephew on the floor, and he automatically ran towards the left door.
"Terrence! Come back here or I swear to fucking God, you'll end up trapping yourself in the basement!" Richard said while running towards the door.
Oscar chuckled, then turned to her little sister, "Meet me in the dining room."

Richard looked around the basement, not seeing his son anywhere. Then someone touched his shoulder. He whipped out his pocket knife and pointed it at the enemy. Oscar dodged it, fortunately.
"Motherfucker."
"Surprised you have the guts to cut my face off."
"My father was in the fuckshitting army, I have firearms in a wooden box."
"Yep."
Oscar pushed passed him, and walked behind a pile of boxes. "Sit with your wife at the dining room, it'll be just a second."
Richard furrowed his brow, but shook it off and went upstairs.
Oscar peeked and smiled. He opened a secret passage way behind a shelf. He went downstairs and saw Terrence looking under the bed. "It's gotta be here somewhere..." he muttered.
"Heya, kiddo. Watcha doing?" Oscar asked. Terrance bumped his head against the bed, then turn to face Oscar. "I'm looking for my markers.” Terrence smiled. He bended back down, a few seconds later he came out with a pack of markers in his hand. "Aha!"
He ran towards the door beside the bed and shouted "C'mon, uncle!" Oscar followed his nephew to a hallway, and Terrence stood against the edge of a wall. Oscar realized he wanted his height to be measured. Oscar smiled and drew a line on top of Terrence’s head, then wrote above the line ’Terry age 12’ and under it ‘Thanksgiving 1963’
A/N: if you know what i mean *wiggles eyebrows*
Terrence looked up and smiled.

“This is impressive, Oscar.” Richard complemented. The family came over for a Thanksgiving dinner at Arbor Hill. “Thanks, Rick. It was made with mom’s recipe, that includes human meat.” Oscar closed his eyes and smiled.
Terrence gagged and Oscar laughed “I was just kidding, Terry.” Terrence sighed. “So, what did you do at school?” Oscar asked.
“We did a play of the assassination of President Kennedy.” Terrence smiled, chewing his turkey leg. “Yeah, he got to be the script writer.” Harvey said. First to sixth grade was all involved in the play,
“And they both played the two presidents!” Mary exclaimed excitingly. She dug through her purse and pulled out her video camera. She flipped it open and handed it to Oscar. He smiled, seeing his nephew and classmates finally getting along. Terrence wasn’t really as sociable as his brother, but he was happy he could at least cooperate with them.
“That’s cute.” He said, pushing his glasses back up his nose. “Who shot you?”
“This mean kid named Janice. She used to make fun of me because I was so obsessed with the JFK conspiracy theories, and I had sticky notes of them in my locker. But we became friends during auditions. And for some reason she volunteered to be the assassinator.” Terrence said, smiling a bit because he made a new friend.
“I’m still kind of disappointed that he let a fucking girl bully him.” Richard whispered.
“You know? You deserve something for getting a friend all on your own. Finish your food first, then I’ll show you.” Oscar pointed his fork at Terrence, and he smiled.
“Hey, what about me?” Harvey asked. “Aw, two of my nephews get something, it’s hidden in the basement, but you can’t open it till the holidays. Terry deserves it because he had social interaction with someone outside his family, and became their friend. You get a sneak peak tomorrow.” Oscar winked.
“Aight.”

Terrence sat on the mattress next to Harvey in the attic. They were also staying for the weekend. The guest room was occupied by Richard and Mary, so the kids had to sleep somewhere else.
He wrote theories for the JFK assassination in his composition book. “What do you think Uncle Oscar’s surprise for you is?” Harvey asked, he was laying down, already changed out of his formal clothes, Terrence too. Harvey sticked his comic book in the air, looking at Terrance. “I dunno. you?” “Eh.”
There was a knock on the attic door. It opened, and Oscar was there. “C’mon, Terry.” and he went back down. “Tell me what mine is.” Harvey whispered and Terrence nodded. He slid down the stairs, seeing it a little steep.
He looked up, but Oscar wasn’t there. He saw a note on the floor.
Basement, kiddo :)
-Oscar
He peeked down the hallway, Oscar wasn’t there. He walked down the hall to the basement door. He pulled the key from his necklace that was made from string. Oscar have him the key to the basement a few months ago. Because of two reasons:
1) He practically begged him
2) He proved he wouldn’t lose stuff again. He hasn’t lost his pencil since April! And it’s November
He put the key in and turned. He looked around and saw no one there, and sighed.
He pushed it open and glanced to his right. The shelf door was open. He walked to it and pushed it wider open. The light was on, so that meant he was there. “Uncle?” he called out.
There was a light clink sound. But Terrence accepted it as a reply anyways.
He stepped down the stairs cautiously. When he reached the bottom, a pair of hands covered his mouth. He tried to scream but it was muffled.
He got thrown onto the floor. He opened his eyes and rubbed his head. He looked up and his eyes widened in fear.
“Uncle?”
There was a high-pitched scream. But somehow no one heard it.
He felt something sharp being stabbed into his neck. And seconds later everything was black.

“HAAaAAAaaahh…ah-“ Terrance’s scream died down. He looked around, he was in the basement. He flopped his face into the pillow on the bed he was sleeping on.
He always wondered why the heck is there a bed and a sink in a hidden room underneath a big house. But he never asked.
He got off the bed. He accidentally stepped on a syringe on the floor. He looked down quizzically, but shrugged it off.
He got upstairs, rubbing his eyes. He took his basement key out of the hole and into his pocket. He ran to the kitchen and saw his family, excluding Oscar, at the table.
“Where were you?” Harvey asked, looking up from his bacon and eggs. “I fell asleep in the basement, don’t worry though.” he tiredly sat on a chair. “You don’t look good, dear. Something wrong?” His mom asked. “Nah, I’m good, but I do want one of those bacon strips.” he said.
“Where’s Uncle Oscar?” He asked when his mom gave him his food. “We haven’t seen him all morning, but his office lights are on and his car is still in the driveway, so it’s safe to assume he’s in his office.” His dad said.
“Listen, can we go home today? I don’t really wanna stay here much longer…” Terrence said, quietly chewing his bacon and looking down.
“Are you sure everything’s alright?” his mom asked.
“Yep.”

Terrence laid in his bed, looking up at the ceiling. He got up, looking around. He saw his and Harvey’s desk in the corner of the room. He got up and took a box cutter out of the cup.
He smiled.

this fic actually went through a lot of rewrites, first it had Terry being forced by Oscar to go in the basement, then it’s Terry watching cartoons one night and hearing a sound from the basement, and then this.
