Wow, it’s been a month since my last post. Oops.
I’ve been really busy finishing up Desert Child, and a lot of the work hasn’t really been deep enough to write about it.
One thing I did a while ago and never really posted an update on was the Bike Customization menu.

It’s nearing completion now, I just have to add some more text and things, but all the parts and their effect are coded and working well.

I’m actually pretty pleased with how close this come to what was in my head. I think I magined a few more part types, but what’s there is a lot for the length of the game. Who knows, I might add some secret ones later.
I actually enjoyed playing around with this system. It’s fun to try and fit as many different parts onto the grid as possible, like tetris.

The whole idea for customizing the bike came from this anime I grew up watching (and naturally there was a game, too) called Medabots. I just love the chunky toy aesthetic of the robots and the colour palette too.

It’s actually a reallycute, funny show too, and I think it holds up to adult viewings, so maybe check it out.
