To write music, you first need to understand what it consists of
First, we'll explore the units of step, bar, and loop (image 2). We'll use step to arrange a single note. Bar to arrange chords. 4 steps = 1 bar. Loop will represent the final musical thought. 16 steps = 4 bars = 1 loop.
The track itself consists of several sections, which may differ in each track, but we'll use the simplest option: verse1 chorus verse2 chorus chorus (images 3 and 4).
Verses have individual chords and their own melodies.
Choruses have the same melody and chords.
And finally, what these parts consist of: chords, melody, bass and drums (Image 5). Chords are the foundation of a track, from which everything else builds. Melody makes a track vibrant and memorable. Bass gives the track rhythm. Drums give the track rhythm and make it brighter.
