Firstly, I know I have a small following but I am quite grateful for it. It was really nice to be told friends found my game on here and that some people think it's an interesting product! Shoutout to my friend Wolfy who asked if I was the same Liziveth on Gamejolt, it reminded me to check here and realize that I haven't been posting! Development actually was going quite well for quite a long time. I ended up rebuilding some systems from the ground up, included some more dynamic minigames, screenshot button etc. It's now perhaps the best time to address some questions you all might have.
Q: Are you a full time game developer?
A: No! I help set up gallery art shows for a living and will be moving soon to continue in my chosen field.
Q: When will this game come out?
A: When it is done. I am a very slow worker due to my poor fine-motor skills and juggling work, school, and development, and other hobbies. This game actually has origins all the way back to my freshman year in high school when I was trying to make a guide to teach people who cant code/draw/compose to still make games and to encourage the space to be open to hobbyists. It's something I am still passionate about to this day, even if I am a bit quieter about it. In its current state, I only have had a couple of months with the current camerawork and other systems, so it might be a year or two before I can get a big update, especially considering it's a side project I view as a hobby.
Q: What are your main inspirations?
A: I really just make what I have on my mind at the time. I do sometimes draw from RPGmaker games I played back in the day and some literature that I hold close to me but those influences often are more subconscious as opposed to intentional. There are occasional references to works I care a lot about though! People keep saying my game is like Undertale and Yummy Nickels though and it confuses me! What do those words mean?!
Q: What is next for this game?
A: It might take a bit to come out as I am moving across the country very soon, but the next items on the agenda are the antifreeze wastes and some more gameplay that connects the content of the first and second demos so it's kind of a more complete experience with some story. Some of this is already finished like most of the level layouts and early enemy movement routes for the wastes, but others need tweaking. I also want to add more to what's already there, as there are points I've marked to add fishing holes or mushroom foraging points. You can usually follow this on my twitter but I am also trying to set up a neocities page for development. I am not very good at HTML though. Eeep!
Thank you all for reading, adieu adieu <3
