Our next update will be the biggest one to date, with major core mechanics, systems and other features being developed and tweaked.
A mechanic known as Field Breakers is used in our races that gave drivers an edge in the battlefield, they are divided into 2 types, Track and Vehicle. Vehicle field breakers can be defensive or offensive. One of these is BOOST.
We are tweaking our vehicle dynamic/physics engine to incorporate a bunch of these mechanics, as well as customization. One thing that was not included into RCC (Realistic Car Controller) was the ability to factor in tire traction. We resolved this by adding our own code to handle different type of tires.
This was needed, as we hope to give cars bigger engines for players to use. These high performance tires provide players better traction for these high output engines.
As shown in the video, this engine put out 700 n*m and accelerated this tiny coupe up to 193 mph!
Lastly, we worked out how to apply motion blur to the environment without messing up the world space UI.
