What the f*** is in Chimata's theme?
Akira here!
When I analyzed most UM tracks that I've heard, including Smoking Dragon, sounds like techno electronic music at the start. I still hasn't realized what ZUN wants in his music using his drunken head. (I bet he got drunk one day and then listened to rave electronic songs in a beer club and got the idea for the next game's music while still drunk).
When most people comments about this song, they said Chimata was a "Gay God" or something like that. I bet that the rainbow-colored clothing made people think she's gay.
Now, for the main part... What the melody of the song meant to her and to us? It isn't sounds like what we heard when we faces a divine entity. It sounds more like a techno pop track we might listen at rave parties (as I said above, ZUN might get that idea from beer taverns that he might go to get beer). ZUN said in the music comment that the song meant to be have two parts: One that is lively and upbeat, and the other that is quite depressing and dramatic. I bet that he is referring to the techno-like part of the song as the "upbeat" part, and the part that have choir sounds as the "dramatic" part. But what that meant to a rainbow-clad god who runs a marketing business? Or that music represents the frantic atmosphere of gay orgies, true to her fan interpretation as a god of gay people?
