If you don't get it (for some reason), the first video game was created in 1958 and it was called Tennis for Two, though it wasn't ever publicly released. Ralph Baer came up with the modern video game and in 1972, the company Magnavox released the first ever video game console called the Magnavox Odyssey.
The Magnavox Odyssey is quite the neat little console, it couldn't display color because of the TV's of the time so it had color overlays that you could put over the screen to simulate color. The controller was just a box with two knobs on either side, so all the games were incredibly simple.
It's all really cool. Was this just an excuse to gush about my love for old video games? no. Is it now? Yes
