Honestly I’m getting really tired of Destiny players constantly going “this is it Bungie, last chance, this is when you decide your fate, this is your last final chance ever!!!!” Every single fucking time they release an expansion. I think the reason they do that is because they know Bungie only ever puts their A-game into Destiny when their back is to the wall, they’re holding out hope for something like with Forsaken and Final Shape, a big “we’re so back” moment. But this time around Bungie’s back has been to the wall for a while, they just can’t seem to pull off the same last-second miracle like they used to, and I highly doubt the Fortnite-ass Star Wars crossover episode is gonna deliver that “we’re so back” moment you all are hoping for.
So I’d just like to ask: at what point do you stop giving out “final chance”s and finally say “NO more chances”? Because for me and a lot of other people it was Lightfall. Before then I was still under the delusion that Witch Queen was a turning point for the better, that Bungie finally shaped up, before Lightfall proved it was just another example of Bungie’s “lock in when people hate you, slack off when they don’t” attitude. But people don’t actually hate Bungie this time, they just DONT CARE ANYMORE. “anger is not the OPPOSITE of loving a game. Loving and Hating a game are like 2 degrees off from each other, and they both come from passion, from people who are HIGHLY ENGAGED. The opposite of Loving a game, the thing that will kill your game, is Apathy." And that exactly what we’re seeing now. Apathy.
The party’s dead. I’ve been watching it die from the sidelines for years now, and watching you all dance alone while yelling at the dj “please bro we just need a good song to bring people back, last chance bro!!!” over and over again. It’s not gonna happen. Go home.
