I guess any game that exists and has somewhat meaningful lore is fine, but it needs to be a game that a pretty hefty amount of people have played. But it doesn't need to be well-known. For example Sky Children Of The Light, not well known but gets updates

In Arma 3, Altis is a real place, inspired heavily by the island named Lemnos. Though Lemnos doesn't have anything to do with war the God Hephaestus happened to have been created there making it even more important.
