So I looked into archiving addons for Garry's Mod and as of now I have managed to archive 16GB of Nintendo related content. If all of my backups work then I will only have to do minor damage control for the currently deleted content.

Unfortunately one of the main addons I used was for hats from Splatoon 2 but that already got deleted and I haven't been able to find any backups online yet.

So once I test everything to see if it works then this whole situation will just turn into a bad memory and that's it.

This means there is a 95% chance that the game will not be cancelled.

EDIT: So after testing, only about 3 addons have failed to load but other than that it seems like my backups have worked.
