I know this is not the news that some of you wanted to hear


But it's still news!

I decided I wanted to focus on the Roxy's universe itself as of the time being, less on the production of the game. Expand and explore a universe that I made and love to this day. To me it's more than just "the game", it's a world that has its own charm, lore, characters, atmosphere. More on that later.

No progress has been made with the game recently. I know that sounds like raw disappointing information but I thought I'd say it. It's mainly due to a workflow I set up that backlashed more than anything, that disappointed me, which made me go through some self doubting times, and blocked me from doing anything productive. I'm still taking a break from that to stand up from that, but it's on the right tracks.

It's actually silly, I just need a declick and stuff would be back on track. Well, the question is how.

Nonetheless being someone who cannot go 24 hours without really creating anything, I decided to tackle the situation differently, I focused on other things, which you might also enjoy discovering:

  • I made a live build testing system for games that manages access control to beta builds, teams integration, stats, real time session manipulation, etc

  • I tried clay modeling for the first time and made a project from start to finish! I really loved the outcomes and I will do that again in the future!

  • I remade a specific song in the most accurate way possible (tediously digging up sample libraries, remaking and mixing by ear), which is more or less a childhood dream coming true

  • I made a bunch of soundtracks for an "imaginary game" (that will probably never end up anywhere but was a cute concept) in the style of Machinarium

  • I'm on the final stages of releasing my first ever album that has been in the works for over 2 years! It's chill, electric, lofi style music (the usual ddemkoo style). I really hope you're going to like it!

  • Maybe some silly spin-off game, featuring Truddy, laundry, and a LOT OF CATS

  • And most importantly I teamed up with new people specializing in songwriting for collaboration for some Roxy's related stuff. Original but fun!

I also made a post called "Some important news soon" a while ago, which is not this post. I am still deciding about the content of the post, there are two scenarios and I only want to take one if I'm 100% sure about it, the outcomes and the commitment.

I'll keep you updated on both the News post and the Roxy's songwriting, the latter probably sooner

About the music video, it turned into a lot, lot bigger motion graphics project.

I'd say the visuals turned into something... weird. Intensely dynamic, filled with a vibrant effects, colors. Feels a bit like a sandbox... But you'll see it for yourself :)
