MAJOR SPOILERS!!!!!
I actually was pleasantly surprised by how entertaining it was! I ended up liking the movie. Bro, when I saw Dr. Fate, I freaking got excited. That character was always interesting to me, and I honestly only knew about him thanks to DC Universe Online. He is so powerful, and he commands presence. I love the voice!
I liked Pierce Brosan as the character. I feel he nailed the role and brought this character to life. Yet, they killed him!! I just wish he had a future in the DCEU. Maybe he still does, who knows?
I also enjoyed the banter between Fate and Hawkman. You can right away feel the brotherhood between them and the many years they fought alongside each other in the JSA (Justice Society of America).
What I didn't understand however was why Hawkman was basically a Bruce Wayne in this movie lol. He had the mansion, secret lair, and everything. I found that to be a bit strange honestly.
Let's get to The Rock as Black Adam!
The Rock has always been ripped, but man he killed it as Black Adam in my book. There is a question that is constantly asked throughout the movie - is he truly a hero or a villain?
I've been noticing the decline of the comic book villain in some ways. Both Marvel and DC want to blur the lines now and make them just anti-heroes. There was some killing done by Black Adam, which the JSA kept bringing up that issue in the story. It's kinda weird because he's a villain you know? That's what they do. Why can't villains just stay villains anymore?
In my opinion, I think The Rock really captured the seriousness, brutality, and the coldness of the character.
There is a kid that becomes important in the storyline, and he is the fanboy of Black Adam. XD This added a bit of comedy and slight cringe in the movie, but despite that, I feel like this movie can be enjoyed by anyone if not taken too seriously.
Other reviewers have compared this to the Transformer movies, which I love and agree with. The story itself isn't anything to brag about, but the action is (reminds me of those awesome comic book splash pages of non-stop action).
I seriously loved the part where he sat on the throne.
Bruuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! The ending scene!!!!
Amanda Waller threatened Black Adam that if he left Kahndaq, he would instantly be killed.
Black Adam did not care and challenged Waller to send all of her best forces. In an instant, a figure appeared from the smoke.
