I think remaking the sprite system was still one of the best decisions I ever made old vs new above

I still use those old sprites and Im really glad I made them because it helped me design outfits and important traits of each design but GODDDD


I love the goofy standing sprites you know from the demo I genuinely do and they're here to stay when I need them in certain scenes but like 😭😭😭 the new ones being in such detail looks so cool I can never get over it, ive gotten so much better at drawing that literally seeing my characters look their best is so cool when I go sort through my old files

using the new sprites also forces me to make a lot more room for cutscenes showing off characters outfits and trinkets (like the hello kitty keys) rather than as many up close shots ... idk it balances the game really well to have this kind of variety

real answer is I spent too fucking long with all those old sprites of everyone standing there to waste them
